Nose correction
Perfect form, a natural look and, last but not least, functionality are always the top priority when it comes to a nose correction (rhinoplasty). The aim is not to turn a hook or hump nose into a "generic snub nose". It is important for the nose to harmoniously fit into your face and suit you. In addition to aesthetic aspects, nose correction often involves treating functional problems with nasal breathing. Aesthea's experienced specialists thus always take a holistic view of form and function.

How long does rhinoplasty surgery take?
As a rule, rhinoplasty surgery takes between 45 minutes and 120 minutes.
How long do I have to stay in the clinic?
You will normally have to stay in the clinic for 24 hours after rhinoplasty surgery. In certain cases, the operation can also be performed on an outpatient basis and you will then only come to the Aesthea Clinic for the duration of the surgery.
How long will it take before I look socially acceptable again?
The nasal splint can be removed after about 14 days. By then, in most cases, the bruises around the eyes will have also disappeared.
Is severe pain to be expected after rhinoplasty surgery?
Rhinoplasty surgery is usually not particularly painful after the operation. However, the tamponades in the nasal cavity are sometimes perceived as unpleasant, as they keep you from breathing through the nose.
How long do I have to wear the nasal splint?
The nasal splint can be removed after about 14 days following rhinoplasty surgery.
When will the results be visible?
The greatest changes resulting from the rhinoplasty surgery will become apparent after only two to three months. The nose will still be slightly swollen afterwards and there will be minimal changes within the first year after the operation.
Are post-operative surgeries very common after rhinoplasty surgery?
Rhinoplasty surgery is a complex operation in which internal wound healing can partially affect the anticipated results. In such rare cases, follow-up surgery may be required after rhinoplasty surgery. This is done either under local or general anesthesia.
How soon after the initial operation can a follow-up operation be performed?
Any follow-up surgery should only be considered after the results of the initial rhinoplasty operation are apparent. Therefore, you should wait six to 12 months.
Will there be any visible scars?
The incision is usually made inside the nasal cavity so that there are no visible scars. Sometimes an incision is necessary on the bridge of the nose or in the folds of the nose. However, this becomes almost invisible very quickly. An additional incision on the bridge of the nose is called an "open" procedure, which gives the surgeon a much better overview of the structures to be worked on.
Is the computer-aided simulation prior to the operation realistic?
Simulations help surgeons determine the degree of change desired before surgery. The limits as to what is reasonable and feasible are always taken into consideration. Even if they are not actual "before/after" simulations, computer-aided visualizations provide valuable decision-making support. Above all, they give you the assurance that the doctor has correctly identified your needs.
What anesthetic methods are used for this procedure?
Depending on the intended operation, a simple local anesthesia up to general anesthesia (full sedation) can be used. If, for example, only the tip of the nose is being contoured or a minimal hump is to be removed during the surgery, this can be carried out under a local anesthesia without any problems. Major procedures such as surgery on a deformed nasal septum, a severe hump or a crooked nose can only be done under general anesthesia.
What precautions should I take after rhinoplasty surgery?
It is possible that you will experience increased sensitivity on your nose for several months. Therefore, be sure to avoid any impact or injuries to your nose. If you wear glasses, you should refrain from wearing them for eight weeks and temporarily switch to contact lenses prior to the operation.
Does rhinoplasty surgery leave any traces immediately after the operation?
It is normal for bruising to occur around the eyes after rhinoplasty surgery. Please use a sunscreen until the hematomas have subsided. Sometimes patients also experience a temporary loss of sensation around the upper lip.
How long do the tamponades have to remain in the nose?
The tamponades must usually remain in the nose for 24 hours. However, this depends on the type of surgery and the condition of the nasal septum.
